VA Pharmacy Procurement Delivery Order Training

Trained Pharmacists are needed to procure medications and supplies for VHA facilities across the country. To this end, additional training and education is needed for current Pharmacists and for future Pharmacist members that procure pharmaceutical products for use by Veteran Patients. This knowledge-based web course will provide procurement staff education, training and process information for Pharmaceutical Delivery Order. This will include how the authority has been granted for pharmaceutical ordering officers to utilize the delivery order menu options for the purchase of contracted pharmaceutical items listed on their pharmacy ordering officer delegation letter such as the seasonal influenza vaccine. This education program shall provide fiscally responsible pharmacy procurement and management staff to the organization. Future reports and audits shall be free from defects and failures of procurement of medications and pharmacy supplies.
