The goal of this program is to improve the use of sedation ser vices (SS) and perioperative management of patients on sodium glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogs. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Elaborate on the opportunity cost benefits associated with SS. 2. Improve productivity through the application of scheduling and staffing models. 3. Demonstrate the value of SS to hospital administrators. 4. Identify the adverse effects of SGLT-2 inhibitors. 5. Implement the American Society of Anesthesiologists Con sensus-based guidelines on the preoperative management of patients on GLP-1 analogs.
