The goal of this program is to improve the implementation of vascular access techniques and management of dental anesthe sia in children with congenital heart disease (CHD). After hear ing and assimilating this program, the clinicians will be better able to: 1. Appreciate the characteristics of needles used to gain vas cular access. 2. Employ appropriate techniques for achieving vascular access. 3. Use appropriate imaging strategies to ensure safe and accurate vascular access. 4. Triage children with CHD to the correct setting for dental anesthesia. 5. Minimize risks when administering anesthesia to children with congenital heart defects
