The goal of this program is to improve management of patients with vasodilatory shock and preservation of cognitive reserve (CR) in patients undergoing surgery. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Optimize the dose of hydrocortisone in patients with septic shock. 2. Cite effects in patient outcomes with use of cytokine filters in clinical settings. 3. List adverse effects in older patients with diminished CR undergoing noncardiac surgery. 4. Optimize use of the Mini Cog assessment in patients with scheduled surgery. 5. Use cognitive exercises to reduce the risk for postoperative delirium in older patients.
