Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death among women in the US. Women Veterans are at increased risk for CVD due to prevalent traditional (e.g., obesity, hypertension) and non-traditional risk factors (e.g., depression, PTSD) for CVD compared to their civilian counterparts. In addition, disparities in treatment exist between men and women and racial/ethnic sub-groups. This asynchronous recorded, knowledge-based presentation will equip the interprofessional healthcare team with information on where disparities persist and how clinical team members can take action to address disparities in CVD risk through direct actions.
