Why Type 2 Inflammation Matters in Your Practice: A Primary Care/Specialist Playbook

Why Type 2 Inflammation Matters in Your Practice: A Primary Care/Specialist Playbook

This enduring education will highlight the key takeaways from the virtual live held on March 11. A panel of two faculty members — a primary care clinician and a specialist — recognized as experts will discuss managing type 2 inflammation across asthma, atopic dermatitis (AD), chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), and prurigo nodularis (PN). In addition, this activity highlights perspectives from a patient/patient advocate, who may speak on topics such as the burden of type 2 inflammatory disease, their diagnostic and treatment journey, and/or long-term care factors that are important to patients. As a result of this educational curriculum, learners should be better able to: 1. Describe how type 2 inflammation contributes to the pathophysiology of chronic type 2 inflammatory diseases; 2. Recognize the cardinal signs and symptoms of diseases presenting with type 2 inflammation; 3. Discuss treatment considerations for patients with multiple type 2 inflammatory diseases; and, 4. Outline strategies for optimizing care coordination for patients with type 2 comorbidities across providers and settings.
