The goal of this program is to improve cardiovascular care during perimenopause and after menopause, and the diagnosis and management of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Elaborate on the characteristic features, signs, and symptoms of menopause.
2. Differentiate between cardiovascular risks associated with chronologic aging and ovarian aging.
3 Identify the cardiometabolic changes that occur in the peri-menopausal and postmenopausal periods.
4. Optimize peri- and postpartum care in patients with preexisting hypertension and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
5. Select appropriate first- and second-line therapies for treating hypertension in pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
