The goal of this program is to promote equity between women and men in anesthesiology and improve outcomes of neurosurgery through use of evidence-based anesthesia practices. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Recognize benefits associated with the influence of women in health care.
2. Implement strategies that support progression of women in anesthesiology.
3. Choose an optimal dose and timing of administration of mannitol for patients undergoing brain surgery.
4. Assess the potential advantages of hypertonic saline solution over mannitol for patients who require brain surgery.
5 Use an evidence-based approach to prescription of prophylactic antiepileptic drugs in patients with brain tumors.
