Sabrina is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Davis. Her research in the Leach Lab centers on developing regenerative therapies for fracture repair, with a focus on stiffness gradients, microgel systems, and mesenchymal stromal cell modulation. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented her work at international conferences.

Her experience spans biomedical research, health education, and public engagement. At UC Davis and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, she has led multidisciplinary projects bridging scientific innovation and translational healthcare solutions. Sabrina also mentors high school students through STEM programs and serves on a regional advisory board to support career readiness in biosciences.

Through Sleep Awareness Month, Sabrina combines her research background with a deep commitment to public health communication. She is currently developing a student-focused, science-based presentation that explores the biology of sleep, recent advances in sleep research, and practical strategies to improve sleep quality. Her work aims to make complex science accessible—and to help students prioritize rest as a foundational part of their health and success.
